Black and White Fashion Ball!

Well hello everyone, its me again...it's been a little while since I had an opportunity to post the lastest happenings here at
Sweet Simplicity Confections...but better late than never right?  :-))

Well, On November 26, 2011 I had the honor and priviledge of showcasing my desserts at a fashion show held at the Barrister Gardens Banquet Hall in St Clair Shores, Michigan. I had the most fabulous time. The event was produced by Miss Gina T, a Detroit native, who showcased her fashions (which by the way were JUST AWESOME!!!). From the models, the fabulous fashions, meeting the various designers, watching the beautiful models ripping the runway, meeting other local business owners, I'd have to say there are alot of great local talented fashion designers, natural beauties of all sizes, heights and nationalities right here in the city of Detroit. And I love the fact Detroit is home to some awesome business owners that making things happen in our State. All in all the desserts were well received by everyone who tried them, and I was well pleased with the overall turnout (well over 100 in attendance) and the positive feedback since the show. It certainly was  an honor to be amongst them all. Take a look at a few pictures I managed to take of the event and some of the models who stopped by to visit my dessert table. As always I thank you for visiting my blog and hope you visit again.     And by the way....

Hello Everyone! and welcome back to my blog :) I wanted to take a moment and show you our latest cake and dessert creation for one of my closest & dearest friends, celebrating the
Delicious Chocolate Covered Strawberries
"BIG 3-0"!
She wanted something sexy, flirty and fun for her celebration!!!!
Her cake was made with 2 flavors, the top layer was made with a marble batter, the bottom layer was made with a chocolate fudge batter, filled and frosted with our infamous buttercream and covered in a vanilla flavored fondant...YUMMY!  In addition to the cake, the birthday girl also wanted her guests to enjoy chocolate covered strawberries, dipped in creamy rich milk chocolate, covered in sprinkles, coconut, pecans or with a white chocolate drizzle (also made by yours truly)  :-)) Nothing but the best for her guests...lol  I had a great time at her get-together, the food and wine were wonderful, just what the baker needed after a long day in the kitchen  :-)) But most importantly, the cake & strawberries were a big hit!!!  Check out the smile on her face in the pic below!  :-))

Hello Everyone!!! Its been quite busy for me this past week, with work, my son's homework and creating fantastic tasting desserts...there just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day!!!! but I managed just fine under the stress of it all...lol  I wanted to take a moment to share with you, a picture of chocolate rose shaped lollipops that a dear customer ordered...203 lollipops to be exact!!!! Whew!!!  Ok as you can see there's a Peach colored chocolate rose (which tastes just like vanilla), a Brown colored chocolate rose (Milk Chocolate flavor) and a Light Green colored chocolate rose (which has a yummy Peppermint flavor)...They were all a big hit at the wedding reception and served as guest favors. The peppermint flavor was my customer's absolute favorite...and I would have to agree  :-))  And although it took a few days to make, I enjoyed making them and bringing a smile to my customer's face...what do you guys think?  :-)  I welcome your feedback. If you'd like to see some of my other chocolate creations, feel free to visit my website at http://www.sweetsimplicityconfections.com/  and don't forget to let me know you stopped by...there's a "GUESTBOOK" on my Home Page.... Bye for now!

Hello Hello Hello everyone, allow me to introduce myself...My name is Kindra and I am the Owner of Sweet Simplicity Confections, LLC. located in the heart of Detroit, MI...and I just love, love, love, to create beautiful cakes. I received my start a little over 2 years ago (September 2009) and I wanted to bake a really nice cake for my son, who would be soon turning 10. I didn't want the typical store bought cake...soooo, I decided to take a few cake decorating courses at a local Craft Supply store and totally enjoyed each class. And, the rest is history! Although its been 2+ years, there's still much to learn and much to do...but I'm enjoying every minute of this journey I've embarked upon. Each cake creation is unique to the customer who requests it, and I try to never duplicate a design and challenge myself with each creation. As you can see, this is the cake I made for my son and he absolutely LOVED it. It was a yellow battered cake covered in whipped buttercream frosting. Not bad eh?

Well I do thank you for taking the time to read my very first post, and I invite you to please check back in the days to come for photos of other delectable edibles created by "YOURS TRULY".
Thanks again for stopping by... Bye!
