Hello Everyone!!! Guess Who's Back!!!  :-))

I can't believe how much time has passed since my last blog post. It's funny (well it's not really funny) how life can have you so caught up in other things, projects, meetings, middle school homework and the like, that you seem to no longer have time to do things you once thought was a priority, or things you once considered "FUN".  Although it has been a busy, productive and exciting year so far, I am still learning balance and setting goals for myself when it comes to my business. But I promise to do better in the coming months as I now have a handy assistant (my teen age son) who can assist me with all of my social media needs and keep me on track, and keep you all up to date of all the latest happenings.  So....Problem Solved...Right!?!?  :-))

2014 has been an amazing year, and I am in awe of where God is taking my baking business. I feel so blessed as I celebrate my 5th year in business as a baker / cake decorator.   I have learned so much in the past 5 years, from many successes and a few failures (I'm only human). They were all experiences that helped me to grow as a person, mother, baker, and business owner. I'd also like to give a heartfelt thank you to every customer (family and friend alike) that helped me to grow and encouraged me to make my dream happen through prayer and perseverance; also by giving me the opportunity to bring a little happiness to their lives and others one dessert at a time. You have no idea how much that has meant to me.

Ok enough of the sentimental stuff  :-))

New Dessert Creation 2012...Woohoo!

Good Saturday Morning Everyone!

It's me again...enjoying this sunny an unseasonably warm day :-))  Although it's only been 7 days into the New Year, I feel a great sense of excitement and anticipation of what this year will bring. Well...I wanted to take a moment to share with you another creation, that I absolutely enjoyed making...not that I didn't enjoy the others  :-))) but any opportunity I have to work with fondant is a plus...and why not have fun doing something that you love...Right???  RIGHT! 

This heart shaped delight would be perfect for that special person in your life. Valentine's Day, is just around the corner..hmmmm, or this could even serve as a Birthday Cake for that special Diva. It would also be nice touch as a dessert for a bachelorette party or girl's night out! And one of the good things about Cake Decorating, is the sky's the limit! Your cake design is created with YOUR personal style in mind.

Goodbye 2011, I thank you for the fond memories!!

Hello Everyone, Happy Blessed New Year!

Reflecting back on "2011", it was definitely a year of many challenges, working toward various goals concerning my business as well as in my personal life. There were many lessons learned, but through it all I am very thankful for those lessons. I am optimistic about this new year, and I know that by faith, this too shall be a successful but certainly not a lesson free year. And honestly, I'm excited about all the possibilities that a NEW YEAR brings. There are many upcoming events that will take place, that

Sweet Simplicity Confections, LLC. will be apart of, and other various projects are in the works...so stay tuned, so that you too can be apart of the many great happenings here in Michigan. :-)) I will be sure to keep you all posted as progress is being made.

I'd also like to take this moment to thank all of you, for sharing in my successes in the previous year, your continued prayers and support are greatly appreciated. You all have encouraged and motivated me to step outside the box with each dessert creation...and for that I want to say Thank You, because you are the heart of this business. :-))

Black and White Fashion Ball!

Well hello everyone, its me again...it's been a little while since I had an opportunity to post the lastest happenings here at
Sweet Simplicity Confections...but better late than never right?  :-)) 

Well, On November 26, 2011 I had the honor and priviledge of showcasing my desserts at a fashion show held at the Barrister Gardens Banquet Hall in St Clair Shores, Michigan. I had the most fabulous time. The event was produced by Miss Gina T, a Detroit native, who showcased her fashions (which by the way were JUST AWESOME!!!). From the models, the fabulous fashions, meeting the various designers, watching the beautiful models ripping the runway, meeting other local business owners, I'd have to say there are alot of great local talented fashion designers, natural beauties of all sizes, heights and nationalities right here in the city of Detroit. And I love the fact Detroit is home to some awesome business owners that making things happen in our State. All in all the desserts were well received by everyone who tried them, and I was well pleased with the overall turnout (well over 100 in attendance) and the positive feedback since the show. It certainly was  an honor to be amongst them all. Take a look at a few pictures I managed to take of the event and some of the models who stopped by to visit my dessert table.
